Despite being newly promoted to Minister of State at the Department of Health and Social Care, Caroline Dinenage, MP for Gosport, took time out of her busy parliamentary schedule to visit our Maritime Workshop, to see for herself the new facilities and learn about Oarsome Chance's work with local young people.
Oarsome Chance Founder and Chair of Trustees, Paul O'Grady gave Ms Dineage a tour of the workshop and Oarsome Chance students gave her demonstrations of the woodwork skills they have learned with Oarsome Chance.
Ms Dineage siad "It was great to visit Oarsome Chance to learn about their fantastic work. It's remarkable how skills like wordwork and time on the water are helping these youngsters gain confidence, self discipline and a new apporach to learning."
John Gillard, Principal at Oarsome Chance, added "The students are our greatest ambassadors so I'm pleased Caroline got to meet some of them."
