This event has now taken place, but there will be more Portsmouth Pull events throughout 2019, starting with an all women's race, for International Women's Day on March 8th. If you are interested in taking part in Portsmouth Pull, or in us putting together a bespoke rowing challenge for you or your company, then please get in touch: [email protected].

The Portsmouth Pull for Oarsome Chance is a unique 10km (5.3 nautical mile) rowing challenge around the world-famous Portsmouth Harbour.

The Portsmouth Pull will take place on Friday 28 September 2018 and raise vital funds for our work with disadvantaged young people.

This row-of-a-lifetime is open to up to six teams, who will compete in a lap of the historic naval harbour. The race starts and finishes at Oarsome Chance’s HQ at St Vincent College on the Gosport Peninsula and takes in Portsmouth’s most iconic landmarks including the Spinnaker Tower, Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory, Portchester Castle and Gosport’s Millennium Bridge.

The Portsmouth Pull is open to anyone aged 16 or over, and no rowing experience is needed to take part. Teams, which can comprise four or five people, just need to be ready to row hard and raise sponsorship a for a great cause.

Oarsome Chance will provide all participants with rowing tips and advice at a special training day on Saturday 8 September. We will also provide handy hints on how to maximise the money raised to make a tangible difference to the lives of young people.
