Rod has enjoyed a successful career in the Royal Navy, recently retiring as a Captain to pursue a career as a Programme Director in the NHS.  His Naval career included appointments in most classes of ship and most recently as Logistics Commander in HMS ARK ROYAL.  He also has experience of working alongside the other Services in operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Prior to leaving the Service he was Deputy Director of Resources for the Royal Navy and so brings financial, programme management and logistics experience to the Charity in his role as Treasurer and Trustee.  In his remaining spare time he enjoys sailing, skiing, travelling and is also a Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights.  He and his family live and work in the area and have close connections with the local community.
