As Technical Director at Alex Thomson Racing (ATR) Ross is the overall project manager for all ATR yachts and their crews and holds responsibility for all technical aspects within the team. Having joined Alex Thomson Racing in 2003, Ross has worked closely with Alex Thomson ever since to prepare the ATR Open 60 yacht for single-handed round the world challenges. A talented sailor in his own right, Ross has competed in the 2009 Transat Jacques Vabre with Thomson as his co-skipper and skippered both transatlantic and around the world races. Ross is based in Gosport although his job with ATR takes him all over the world. In his role as Oarsome Chance Trustee, as well as bringing fantastic technical knowledge, Ross has worked with young people on work experience at ATR and is in a unique position to create beneficial links between Oarsome Chance and maritime industry.
