Take part in the row of a lifetime!
The Portsmouth Pull is an exciting, challenging row around historic Portsmouth Harbour. Teams of 4-5 rowers navigate 23-ft wooden rowing skiffs past iconic landmarks including the Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays, HMS Warrior, Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory, the continental ferry port and the historic naval dockyard, home to the UK’s largest ever aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth. The teams then head towards the medieval Portchester Castle and Hardway, where troops embarked in 1944 heading for the D-Day landings, before passing back under Gosport’s Millennium Bridge for a sprint finish.
Start time: registrations 10 am / race starts 12 noon
Course: Starting from St Vincent College on the Gosport peninsula, passing under the Millennium Bridge and crossing Portsmouth Harbour, proceeding to Porchester Lake and round a mark off Porchester Castle before continuing past Hardway and back towards St Vincent College for the finish.
Vantage points: Gosport’s Millennium Bridge, Porchester Castle and Hardway.
