Student Mentor: Music Lead

Purpose of the job:

Work directly with young people, helping them to build life skills, develop healthy relationships and make decisions that are right for them. Mentors are often involved in supporting and setting up projects. To ensure safeguarding and support of students. To communicate with families including parents, guardians and carers as required.

Mentor specialism:

  • An ability to inspire Oarsome Chance young people by developing sessions that can relate to and build on their musical preferences, which include many different genres including grime, R&B, rock, punk and others.
  • Experience of using music production technology and DAW software and hardware systems to facilitate music creation with young people.
  • Experience of teaching young people to play an instrument, particularly guitar, drums and/or piano would be desirable.
